Crunchyroll’s first global release hits theaters from August with worldwide distribution by Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment
CULVER CITY, Calif., May 11, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Crunchyroll and Toei Animation today announced the release Dragon Ball Super: SUPERHERO, the latest film in the global hit anime franchise, which will hit theaters worldwide in the summer of 2022.

This is the first truly worldwide distributed theatrical release for Crunchyroll and is distributed in North America by Crunchyroll. Internationally, the film will be distributed by Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment. The film will be released in cinemas around the world on all continents, including North America, Latin America, Europe, Australia/New Zealand, Africathe Middle Eastand Asia (excluding Japanwho will launch the film June 11). The film will be released in Japanese with subtitles and dubbing.

Dragon Ball Super: SUPERHERO is the second film of the Dragon Ball Super franchise. Dragon Ball Super: Broly was released in 2018 for fans around the world. The film earned more $120 million at the worldwide box office and is the 5th highest-grossing animated film at the box office in the United States
