Kareena Kapoor Khan will soon make her OTT debut with a thriller thriller. The actor, along with Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Verma is set to star in an upcoming film based on a Japanese novel titled The devotion of suspect X, written by Keigo Higashino. This Hindi adaptation will have a direct digital release.
For a long time, we heard about Khan’s possible debut on OTT. The film will be directed by Sujoy Ghosh, best known for directing thrillers like Kahaani and Badla. The official title of the project has yet to be revealed.
The project is produced by Jay Shewakramani and Akshai Puri along with Sujoy Ghosh and Thomas Kim. Vijay Verma shared a 25 second video announcing the project. It opens with a member of the production team placing a flower vase, then team executives walking through the script together. Then between Khan and we see her say, “Are we doing the reading? What’s going on?” The video continues to show Ahlawat and Verma preperation for filming alongside Ghosh.

Verma shared the video with the caption, “Let’s go for another one with Netflix! Glad to collaborate with these pillars. Believe me when I say, it just keeps getting better.
As mentioned in the ad, the movie is based on Keigo Higashino The devotion of suspect X, which was published in 2005. It is the third novel in Higashino’s Detective Galileo series. It has won numerous awards, including the 134th Naoki Book Prize.
The book is about a character named Yasuko Hanaoka, who is a divorced single mother. She thinks she escaped the abusive relationship with her ex-husband Togashi until he came back one day asking her for money. He threatens her and her daughter, but as things escalate, he finds himself dead in his apartment.

Speaking with Hindustan Times, Khan spoke about his OTT debut, saying, “The film is a screen adaptation of a work that was a global bestseller. It has so many aspects…murder, mystery, thrill and so much more, that put in the hands of our inimitable director Ghosh is something I can’t wait to start working on.
