What is the release date of “Fast & Furious 10” and when will it air?

Vroom vroom vroom, we all wanna see the latest fast furious movie soon. But when will the now 10th installment of the Car Bonanza series hit theaters? And when will it come to streaming in one form or another?

First of all, what do we even know about the next movie of The fast and the furious – where is it fast furious – franchise? For starters, the next explosive automotive adventure in the Vin Diesel movie franchise (can we pause for a moment to honor how fitting it is that the main man in this franchise is called Diesel and that he never gets old ever? Cool.) will actually be a two-partner, as has been reported by multiple outlets.

There’s technically only one movie left in the franchise, but it’s too big (and too lucrative) to be just one movie, so it’s split into two movies and two outings a la Kill Bill.

“Part of the reason why Quick 10 needs to be split into two different movies because there’s so much ground to cover. There are so many places and places in the world that we have to visit,” Vin Diesel told a press conference for F9.

It is not yet entirely clear if the titles are going to be Fast and Furious 10 and Fast and Furious 11, F10 and F11, F10.5or other iterations (name updated below).

What will the two films be called?

Fast and Furious

Who does the F know?

Update: Just minutes after this story was published, the official title of the upcoming movie was released, much to the disappointment of fun and fans everywhere. They went with x fast, transforming 10 into its equivalent in Roman numerals. We’d like to think the creators caught wind and rushed to get the real name (and we’re still hoping that’s just a placeholder for now, because what are they even going to call part two? Rapid X.II?

Here are our original finalist options:

  • F10.1 and F10.2
  • F10 and F10.5
  • The Fastest and the Furious
  • F10 Part 1 and F10 Part 2
  • F10 top speed and F We go until 11
  • 10Fast 11Furious
  • Quick 10 and Furious 11
  • F at 10²
  • The furious and fast parts 1 and 2

Diesel called them “10.1 and 10.2” originally, but those seemed like placeholders for a franchise that likes to be at least a little creative with its titles. Of course, we all know by now that this probably won’t be the last movie(s) in the franchise, as spinoffs galore or even reboots and resurrections will happen as long as enough people pay to go see the next movies. Diesel even alluded to this in the same press event, saying he wanted to work with the cast of the franchise for “the rest of (his) life.”

“I know that we had always imagined how this mythology, at least in the first phase, what would be the end of this mythology. I’m very excited about this, I’m very excited about 10.1 and 10.2, but it’s bittersweet because I hope to work with these people I call family for the rest of my life.

As you may know, Justin Lin is directing the latest movie(s) and was on board for several of the previous ones, including Tokyo Drift, fast furious, Fast Five, Fast & Furious 6and F9. Essentially he was on board for movies three through six and then the last one.

Theatrical release date for F10 Part 1

Fast and Furious 9

The official release date for the next film in the series is May 19, 2023. This has been confirmed by Universal Pictures, which lists the film as Tenth untitled chapter in Fast & Furious Saga. That’s a catchy title! (Universal hasn’t updated the name on their page yet, so there’s still hope that Fast X is a placeholder).

Originally it was thought the film would hit theaters this year, but since the COVID-19 pandemic pushed back the release and further filming of F9, everything has been adjusted to fit this timeline. The next film is believed to be released the following year in 2024, but there is no official word on that yet.

The speculation has Fast and Furious 11 release anywhere from February to April 2024, but how the storylines intertwine and the success of 10 will most likely decide a lot of that. Filming for the entire two-part film began in January this year.

Broadcast options for Fast and Furious 10

The last entry, F9, was not released in streaming simultaneously with the theatrical release. Through distribution and broadcast rights, F9 didn’t hit HBO Max or any other streaming service, paid or otherwise, on the same day, but Universal Pictures has a deal that follows a repeatable formula, so we can somewhat guess when this next movie will be available for viewing in our home cinemas.

The deal was struck with AMC Theaters during the pandemic in 2020, according to CNN, as both parties struggled to figure out how to release movies while theaters were closed without compromising the long-term health of the experience. cinematographic. In the past, a 70-day window was the agreed standard for a movie to be released in VOD (video on demand) format after a movie was released in theaters.

The new deal moved that up to 17 and 31 days, respectively, depending on how the film trades in theaters, as any film that exceeds $50 million at the box office is automatically pushed into the second, longer window. , according to IndieWire. There’s a whole new set of ways studios can choose to release movies now to take full advantage of distribution (and profitability), which you can read a bit more about in their story.

This was the case for F9. The last fast furious The film hit theaters on June 25, 2021, and topped that mark in opening weekend alone, grossing around $70 million on its way to earning around $726 million worldwide. Looking at this timeline, F9 was on schedule, releasing for a 48-hour short-term access rental on streaming services such as Amazon Prime, YouTube, iTunes, on July 30, 2021, or exactly 31 days in total, release date included.

We’re going to step on a tightrope here and say that the 10th installment is going to make a lot of money and top that amount easily, which will put its PVOD streaming release 31 days past May 19th. Go ahead and mark June 18, 2023 as a tentative pencil streaming release date on your calendar (or set a digital alert on your device of choice). Now you have plenty of time to whip up that popcorn and even get yourself a new couch, TV, or projector if you want.

F9 also wasn’t added to HBO Max as an included streaming option until March 4 of this year, nearly a year after it hit theaters, so we don’t expect (the now titled) x fast be readily and freely available at any time after its release. There’s no deal between Universal and Netflix right now, for example, but a lot can change in a year.

In the end, we’ll all have to be a little patient to get our next Fast to fix.
